new eyes

I think most tackle shops are the same. If they get your business that's fair enough and there are more people fishing and buying bait. It is in the interest of a local tackle shop to keep people fishing. I'm not trying to slag any tackle shops off but if you didn't have rings you wouldn't need bait. I would rather go to my local tackle shop (Reelsport Hebburn) and give them repeat business once every three month, other than trying to get stuff cheaper over the interweb.

pm primo man on here (Alan) a very well known rod builder now and does an amazing job at a good cost. Lives near Horden though if that could be a problem. The top eye is easy to replace but the others obviously need whipping which is where the expense starts. I can pm you his number is you pm me

Right, i've decided to hoy some eyes on myself (first time I've tryed) Got 3 new eyes from rutherfords £3.50 I've put tip eye on stright forward. Now the other two eyes I've threaded on and glued it seems pretty solid, But what do I put over the top the thread???

(sorry for hijacking thread) :-)

after putting the thread on you use pva type glue ,then highbuild goes on last but you need to keep the rod turned every now and then to stop it from running

Yer mate, that's what I said a couple of replies later. As for local shops, I got two bottom rings put on my daiwa beachcaster for only £10 from reelsport, hebburn.
