been loads of times as have several mates in whitehaven and have fished with them. nowt at the moment except small dabs, but in winter months lots of doggies and odd plaice. recommend nethertown beach in the dark at high tide for cod and double figure bass in winter. also st bees heads in summer for pollack. other good marks are whiteyrock, salins pipe, eskmailes beach and seascale beach. all produce cod bass etc best baits lugworm and crab.

Better waiting till April mate, the plaice will be moving inshore after spawning,to coincide with the crabs starting to moult. You can fish the piers and once the weather warms up a bit,the pier (not sure what it's called)at the southern side of the marina, fishes well for a number of species, including the aformentioned, and there is a large shoal of resident mullet in the marina, although they are not the easiest to catch during daylight.Hope this helps.:)
