Hallow jordy.
Glad you took \"the plunge\" and nice to have you with us.

Oi, Bri.....\"civilised side\" ???......I\'ve been told that they still eat their young over in the badlands, North of the Tyne.

You won\'t have any probs down there mate let me know when you are going will meet you there.
Used to fish there a lot and had some decent nights. Best with a bit of a sea running though same as most.

Jim.

you talking about hendon or roker jim
ive heard some proper horror storys about hendon prom ,gangs of teens weilding axes etc ,couple i chat too on another board live down that way even they give it a miss lol

Not seen anything like that mind I havn\'t fished there on a night for about two years or more. Can\'t see them bothering more than ONE person that is not the way they work mate.

Jim.

As far as \"sea\" goes, there\'s not much in the way of the \"fishing from the car\" sort of marks, Bri.

Nearest I can think of would be the little beach at So. Shields.
This can fish well at all stages of the tide and is VERY clean (unless there\'s been a good blow, in which case it can get weeded up very quickly.

Other than that, there\'s the pier, ofcourse. Bear in mind though, that the gate gets locked at night (afternoon, in some cases). This would prevent \"easy\" access to be able to fish the seaward side - but you can still fish the harbour side BEFORE you reach the gate. I had a 5lber fishing from there earlier this year.

There are a few river marks further up-river from Mill Dam. Heading up-river, there\'s;

JARROW:-
near St Pauls Church, just off Churchbank - this is where the River Don flows into the Tyne.

Jarrow Riverside Park - This is near the South entrance to the pedestrian tunnel. Watch out for the moored boats, though.

HEBBURN:-
Next to the marine police HQ. This is accessed from the Viking Business Park.

Hebburn Marina....This is just about right accross the river from Swan Hunters at Wallsend. Just had a brand new jetty built and can be a good shot.....again, watch out for the moored boats, though.
