Weather dont look to grant now for weekend :( was wanting to take her out to warm oil before its change, just crawl around the marina now instead :)

Anyway back to the premise of the "new rod"...mine is hopefully arriving this week and I saw Normans (ugly stik 18-25 fishing rod ;))

They look like very nice rods indeed...can't wait :)

nice flat sea at the moment, i am out Sunday but not for fishing just a run along the coast with family to look at Marsden etc..said i would do it and good time to take them before the fishing kicks off :)

Good luck to anyone fishing.

The 18-25lb rod does not exist :o

it's a typo not only in the Shakespeare Catalogue but also on their website and subsequently every other online dealers website who have taken the info to use :o:o

talk about a baaaalls up :D

anywho Norman I've now got the exact same rod as yourself...the Ugly Stik Braid 12-20lb is too floppy and long I think so I plugged for the "standard" Ugly Stik 20lb Class boat rod which I have to admit looks and feels like a proper boat rod should feel ;)

GOT MYSELF THE SHAKESPEARE UGLY STIK CHARTER 15lb/7Kg
MODEL No1463.150 8'/2.43m.
SO WE SHALL WAIT AND SEE HOW IT GOES,WHEN'S THE FIRST TRIP AGAIN RICHY ?
SOON ,VERY SOON DID YOU SAY ?

Lol Graham

Well Sunday its first run out and 1st time the engine will have been started since 17th of Oct, taken family out sight seeing again so wont be dropping a line.

Depending on weather the weekend after could see a 4-5hr trip close in before she is out of the water and out of action for 2 weekends due to clean and then lock gates off line.

After April 2-3 trips a week every week if weather and work lets me :)

Gear sorted
Tactics sorted
Crew almost sorted
Engine service almost sorted
Marks sorted
Bait half sorted

God luck if Slinky out on Saturday and Shady if fixed on time

Have to build your rod upto the dobule by landing a few whiting and 3lb codling :)

LOL Tone. not a not exist just maybe not relative lbs .... :)

Would love to Norman but not got any the fishng gear on or electronics, doubt it would go down well..cant take the hamper box as need to make room for my rods in the car :)

Next week maybe next week :)

RICHY,
Have You Sorted Out That Job You Were'nt To Sure About
You Know :exclam:
The One That Involves The Whats It On The Thing M'jig That Stops The Wet Stuff Coming Onboard. For Those Of YOU Reading This Who Are NOT So Technically Minded:yltype:
RICHY, May Explain

Yer just need Norman and crew to get there fingers out and land some fish to tempt me into getting the gear out :)

Cracking day today mind, should be a nice day to just hug the coast Sunday and kick back...mind the price of fuel at the Royal Quays pumps will dampen the day abit lol

whats the price now rich.

back to the original topic - just been to spotty dog and saw the ugly stick braid 12-20lb my god what a rod - i want that one.

Well since the goverment so kindly decided to make us pay the tax it will be around but not checked £1.15 per ltr.....but end of the day its a hobby and you pay it and 9-10 trips its worth it.

if you get it Jason I'll be very interested to read your opinion as I hummed and haa'd over it myself before plumping with the 20lb Ugly Stik (of which I'm very happy with after a field test ;))

Did you make it out today then wall? seemed a nice day but brisk wind.

Mate headed out from Sunderland and never got a bite all day between 2 of them over rough ground and then landed a pouting a drop over a close in wreck.
