New toon Boss

don\'t suppose it\'ll make much difference who comes in. They\'ll end up getting shafted by shepard and hall like the rest of em.

but from the supposed candidates:

Glenn hoddle.... fell off me chair laughing with that one. I\'m sure his soothsayer and general \'mystic meg\' assistant would go down a treat in the strawberry. She could give readings before the match

El tel. had a bit snigger here as well, I doubt as the board would want competition in the \'spiv\' department

Steve Bruce former wallsend boys club lad, done wonders at Birmingham, I\'m sure If he wants to come he will and I doubt there\'d be little Birmingham could do to stop him.

Souness Now surely no one was serious about that one. One Liverpool cast off manager should be lesson enough. They\'ll be telling us Lawrie MacMenamy would be good for the club next!

Houlier. Maybe(ish) He might do all right if got rid of dyer immediately and kicked the rest of em up the arse, but don\'t think he has the balls.

Now here\'s one cause a few bristles. Did wonders at one club with no money to spend, kept them in the prem for ages with a bunch of wrinklies and nobodies....Peter Reid! Now don\'t laugh. He is a good and passionate manager. It would be worth distributing it as a rumour just to see what reaction comes from wearside. In fact I\'m gonna go and post the rumour on a few sites right now!

so who would I go for.....Of the candidates up so far, maybe Steve Bruce. El Tel/Shearer combo?? It would be either truly outstanding or a complete disaster.

whoever it has, they need to be able to not only command the players but have the strength to stand up the board. I for one am starting to get the feeling we are sinking backwards to the bad old days of McKeag and Seymour

Not sure about Souness, probably the best of the rest,don\'t think he\'ll take any shti off anyone.I wonder if Shearer gets on with him,I bet he does somehow !Best of luck to him.
Think El-tel will end up at Sunderland cos they\'ll be looking for a new gaffer shortly.Think they could do with a new chairman as well.
Nice to see Mclaren, Bruce,Oleary stay Loyal to there clubs, good on them. Its a pity Shepherd could\'nt have shown a bit more respect to Bobby.............then again its all about ££££££££££££££££ now.

not too sure about O\'leary.the other 2 yeah.Mac had a good think about it then decided he could trust Stevo more than Fat Freddy.

many a true word. IMHO gibson is the only director in the north east who actually cares about the game rather the balance sheet. bob murray, freddie shepard, douglas hall...birds of a feather.

If they need to they will shaft every single sunderland and Newcastle player/supporter in order to keep there pockets lined.

Souness. Well, I remain to be convinced. All I see is a less healthy version of Dalglish. I think there were better mangers available for the job, but if the truth were not I\'d bet a large wedge on the fact that souness is the cheapest of the bunch to emply

looks like I\'m not alone...

Should be a canny game at the weekend,i wonder if he\'s waching it from the stands (seats),bet theres some good banter, hope Souness is used to having a full house (stadium, not when the lads come round,re Dyer etc) because he\'s got a dodgy ticker,Ewood park has never been sold out.

upon reflection, I would honestly have rather seen peter reid instead.

I give him 18 months at most.

Not an appointment that sets the world alight.

I think he\'ll be s**t or bust. Either he\'ll win something straight away or we\'ll go down the tube.

I\'ll be interested to see hoe Shearer gets on with him, love him or spit the dummy?

fat freddie will have sold him by next month, and I doubt that bellamy and dyer will still be there at the end of the season

I must agree with you on that last post Mark. I think Shearer will jump the boat but the other two will be dreading G.Souness taking over. It\"s just a case of where they are going methinks.

Jim.

im taking shepherd john hall ann douglas hall fishing can any one lend me a boat with a big hole in it and rescue me.they have no respect for no one bobby robson was a lovely bloke.im not botherd about football but i am about morals they SHAFTevery one and they always have done but money talks

just read that Shearer is pleased they appointed Souness, suppose he\'s got to say that.they often sit together as footie pundits and they seem to get on ok,if you remember rightly Blackburn wanted to sign Shearer a few weeks back, maybe there is some connection between the two of them.

A lad said last night he wouldn\'t be suprised if they done the deal for Souness ages ago and let the press speculate and think they got it right and then anounced it at the right time.

We\'ll see how it pans out. A sucsession of big names have failed to get a prize maybe the time is right!

could be some truth in that Peter as Blackburn did\'nt do much shouting and screaming to keep him or accuse the Toon of tapping Souness up it seemed to sail through, the only other possibility is that Blackburn got a big pay off but they are not exactly hard up either.I read today that Mark Hughes is being lined up for the Blackburn job, surprised the Toon did\'nt try for him, suppose he has\'nt done alot at management level yet.
