Just got a surfblaster 7000 for £68 from angling direct

pity you dont where them,cos youll not be able to see were your lead landsive got the 8000,as said nice reels.good price aswell.

Lovely reels mate. You should get the braid spool filled. They fly with that on.

Cheers everyone. The leeda icon is rung for multi, but I've already used it with another fixed spool and it seems fine; the bottom ring on it is fairly big anyway.

I haven't used braid before, might get some eventually. Or I could just put mono on the braid spool? It should hold about 150metres of .33mm? Would I get more distance using the braid spool (it's cone shaped rather than parallel like the mono spool)?

Braid definatly casts better mate. I don't know if you'll get enough mono on it though.

Just loaded the mono spool, line lay is pretty good

It is mate. I think it's the slow oscillation that does it. It should go on better again when ya pull a weight through the water.

Haven't used it yet . I'm laid up with a bad back at the minute; will report back though soon as I get back out!

I have used mine with my leeds icon power with both braid and nylon, no hassle at all.

Hauled in an 11lb 11oz cod no problem.
