Hi Folks . Just joined and thought i'd introduce myself. I'v been shore fishing (badly) now for just over a year and get out as often as i can and just love it :). Been fishing rough ground marks from Newbiggin up to Boulmer trying to catch my first cod , but no luck yet ! So i'm hoping to learn more by reading the shore catch reports etc . Like the pics too as i now know what a cod looks like :D. Tight lines guys.

Well best time of the year to get a cod mate, keep tryin and dont be discouraged by some of the trawlers on this site :D

Mind you

there's a few who wil turn the flattie to hard if you catch my drift hahaha
You wouldn't want to bait up near some them

Only joking lads

Welcome aboard Iva. I'm pretty new to this too. Keep getting out, do a bit of searching on here, YouTube and tinternet and there's tons of tips on catching cod.

I did that, kept going out and blanking until 2 weeks ago caught my 1st coddling nr longhoughton. A healthy 5lb 3oz. Great buzz and makes all the other outing worth while. Now I spend all week checking tides, wind directions and itching to get out again.
