Newbiggin bay

Fished the bay yesterday, last hour of the flood, 3 chucks, 3 fish all around the 3 lb mark. After that all different, still catching on the ebb, sea flattening off, but why did all the fish get smaller? After 5 hours ended up with 7 codling and 2 flatties. Kept 4 codling for 12lb. First 3 in the pic below.
By the way, not complaining, first trip out this winter, well happy!
