Well by the time Lynn eventually deigned to arise this morning... shower, wash her hair, blow dry it and straighten it, we left the caravan just after midday!
Drove up to Ashington to the tackle shop there for some bait and bits and bobs. I thought the guy in the tackle shop in Blyth must have a twin, but no, same guy! He kindly microwaved the frozen mackerel for use so that we could us it right away.
We had a look at Sandy Bay but the rollers went out too far, so we went back to Newbiggin Bay about an hour before high water....about 2 hours after I wanted to get there.
Weather changed by the half hour.
What is the significance of this please?
Anyway to the fishing. On a boat Lynn does all her own rigs, bait etc but onshore muggins here has to do it. Ragworms "bite" apparently, so I tied the rigs, baited up and of course cast out, as she cannot cast for toffee, or any other sweetie.
She also has a strange concept of sharing a rod, more like hogging it! About 4 casts later and with bites each time, she could not hook up so I took over. Unfortunately it was the same for me, just could't connect. All too soon it was her turn again, so I cast out for her and here is the result.
A small plaice, lovely markings on it. I was so pleased for her!
My turn came and went, then the biting wind came back and the surf swamped her wellies, so we headed back to the caravan.
Holiday score:
Lynn - 1 whiting, 1 plaice.
Mark - Well I think you already know.

PS Thanks Fisherman58 at least the rod was christened!
