these photo's of them are getting my blood brimming with excitement!!!

I'm going to get a wopper ;) i think i will avoid wire trace... not interested in keeping it... just making it a cheeky summer mission!

Thanks everyone for the hints, info and advice :)

Although not local, plenty of eels to be had at the mull of galloway, very easy to catch as well. freshly caught mackeral flapper, on a wire trace cast out 10 yards, had them to 20lb, cant see why this method wouldnt work on this coastline too, look out for deep water and rough ground marks, good luck!

Alnwick lad Callum Donohoe, holds the North East record, taken from Craster whilst targetting cod.

tried uploading a pic, but it failed....Big Al is your man for a pic....I remember phoning him to ask him to come up and he was up here before we'd finished the conversation (well nearly)...That's dedication!

Had a small conger at the mull on floatfished sandeel:eek:

On this coast, I fished Cullernose about 5 years ago and hooked something that pulled my Apollo out its rest and just kept slowly going, I couldn't stop it. I tried to slow it down, but to no avail. My trace was bit through eventually.
