met up with jim just after seven,sat having a coffee waiting for the rest of the punters to arrive,i could sense something was wrong/different but couldnt work it out
(the answer was to come at the end of the trip
)
eventually we were crewed up ,6 lads and 2 lasses and away to the east we went
fishing was never hectic but the odd cod and ling put in an appearance
mackarel too and a lot of really large whiting that gave a decent scrap when you hade the blighters 3 at a time
surprise visitors of the day were: haddock,first for me in over 40 years of fishing
and red gurnard and grey gurnard:exclam:
the day ended with a hailstone and lightening show which was quite spectacular
back to port we went,where jim said dunk,can you find the boat hook for me please(the punters had put it out of the way)
ROLLOCKS THATS IT, the answer no CHRIS the crew man was having a day off,and i never noticed
all in all a pleasant day at sea,at "pocket money"prices a few fish despite the big tide and 2-5 knot drift at times
roll on a couple of weeks till i go again
