My advice the same as stevenswales! dont take anything as gospel just try a little of this and that till you find what works for you.
if you are fishing the tide up and over high then have a look around the low water mark around the area the pile of rocks start to end, there is (or was a few weeks ago) a slight depression which should be in casting distance for a reasonable chuck at high tide. It is not much of a gully but I thought it was worth a chuck into with the incoming tide.
