Early days but looking at having 4-5 days fishing in Norway with fishing from a boat by day and shore at night....alot of ground work to do on location, hotels, boats, flights etc.

Anyone got and good or bad experiances they would share to aid in the planning?

Anyone interested in this?

As i said my plan from the top fo my head was to find a port that you can hire a boat for the day, take it out and fish away until it gets dark, home meal rest and few hours from the shore.

I really want to catch a ghost fish, red fin, lump, coalie into double figures, Haddock over 4lb and have some fun from the shore on light gear for the cod etc.

Expecting it to cost around £800+ for 5 days

plenty of people on here been surely they will give you some advice enjoy and i,ll bet you achieve some of those goals going off what you have caught over here even your mam top anglers x2 good luck

I'm off to Norway in march with Ian peacock (dintur) can highly recomend him we are there for a week on the shore with poss a day or 2 boating available prices are really good we are getting hire of 4x4s for the week so we can travel to any marks we wish my mate went this year and is going again as he loves it he had some cracking halibut from the shore

weighing up what ive seen on various forums,Ian Peacock (Dintur) would be the one i`d be using definetely one step ahead of the rest ....... give Gary Pye a ring at n.e.t.s in grangetown, you could probably get it all done for you for £800.

It doesn't get dark Richy :D , you can boat fish all night. I'd love a trip over there , can't organise anything just now, but if the house sells and we move who knows ;)

I WILL be going int he enxt 18 months i have no doubt about that, just wnat to make sure i get a good price and more important a good area to fish with the boat fishing being the main attraction.

If i could hire a boat i already have the Blue maps for Norway, could map it all out from home on my gps before i got there :)

i picked up a brochure from nets in hartlepool for din tur, all areas of norway for boat, shore accomadation etc covered in it, decent prices too

maybe worth a look....saves on a d.i.y trip or gives you a good idea of locations etc

we're planning a trip over there next year...hopefully:)

I wish i could remember what program i seen it on but back in April May i watched a program on fishing in Norway and it could not have been anymore for me if it tried,

fishing on a rocky shore casting into water 150ft 40 yards out stripping lures back for coalie, cod pollack, 1 rod out with bait for haddock etc and then a short walk to a jetty and into a boat, 1mile drive and into 100-400ft water jigging over hard ground no more than 1 mile from land....looked great

Was the program not Henry gilby and his mate boat fishing in norway it's either wild sea fishing or catching the impossible it was on discovery hope that helps mate

More than interested Richy - count me in mate if you need to make up the numbers for the trip

Hello Richie, Mick here. Me and my mate went to Skarnsundet last Feb 2011. 6 other lads met up with us. We kind of got together via the forums and friends becoming involved. Fishing was spot on but not as good as i thought it would be. Think we all thought we were going to catch 30lbers when in reality a couple of 15lbers were the best. Phil the guide has loads of blogs on the web on WSF.
Next March 2012 we are out the week after Deans. Going to Hasvag Fritad. Same thing with the 4x4. Most important thing to remember is its not cheap. Still there is plenty of fish to eat-------------especially 4lb Haddocks from the shore.
Our accomodation for 3 of us this year (5 have dropped out) is 460 each. Flights about 230 but i am taking rod tube so extra 70.
Last year we flew from Gatwick to Trondeim. Next year to save the drive we are flying from Newcastle to Amsterdam onto Trondeim then return in a week.
If you need any info pm me your number and i,ll ring you.(ps 3 is a good number as this is what you need for the 4x4).
Mick.
oh heres one pic. Broke my pb best with my 9 1/2 pound pollack and 7 1/2 pound cod both caught from a boat Phil let us have free fro a couple of days--we just had to gas it up.

Yes i have heard mixed reports about Norway, some lads went and between 5 of them the biggest fish was a 7lber, a little bit above standard size from our wrecks so i would of been gutted.

I am looking at a trip with out the guide feel, one where you go ot in a boat, check the sounder and bottom and give it a go with no one around you.

I saw a holiday in Tromso where the lads had the use of Arvoir boats and it looked fantastic. Will try and find report---may have been on Whitby forums.
Mick.

Well i am 30 today and feel i should of been to Norway by now so it gives me a boost to get it sorted out.

Just booked my 3rd Skate trip thou next year so have that to look forward to, targets 200lb+ skate, spurdog and good laugh
