Norway

I Mick that could be the spot, if it has a hire and captain your own boat that could be the baby.

Wish to split the fishing between boat and shore but boat being the main interest.

Checked with the airport all ready for the cost of taken extra things for fishing, even your own rods and reels and its fair price really.

The bit in that video when he says "bottom paved with big cod" now who has never wished to find a wreck in our area like that....thou i should add BIG cod as last couple of years we have all seen wrecks chcuking up 2-3-4 at a time every drop :)

I wish i could remember what program i seen it on but back in April May i watched a program on fishing in Norway and it could not have been anymore for me if it tried,

fishing on a rocky shore casting into water 150ft 40 yards out stripping lures back for coalie, cod pollack, 1 rod out with bait for haddock etc and then a short walk to a jetty and into a boat, 1mile drive and into 100-400ft water jigging over hard ground no more than 1 mile from land....looked great

youtube it m8 theres loads of threads if you read the commens it will probs help and probably a link to some1.:)

Here is the info Richie. Its something to look at and is right up my street. Keep me in the loop for anything organised. I retire from the Police next Oct 2012 and have promised family trip to America. I,ve been told if i wan to fish to sort something else out.
Note the excellent boats in the package.
Mick.
Sea Fishing Norway Adventures from Anglers World Holidays

I think you need a boat as a retirement package mick :) good luck on the retirement (a little in advance I know but hey :) )

Ha hA its not that far Norman just 10 month or so.

Richie i think if you want a taste of Norway at a good reasonable price you cannot beat Phil at Skarsundet. He has boats you can use and also shore fishing. Very reasonably priced.Lovely fella with a heart of gold. Pulls his puddings out to help you. And you get a boat on your doorstep---------Not an ARVOIR but a reasonable open top boat.30 hp outboard.Has tackle shop on site and will pick you up from airport. And drop off again.

Lots of free time err, well if you cant get booke don the charters one day giz a bell you be welcome Mick...maybe able to put you on the odd mackerel :)

Ow cheers for the info, i am looking for a spot alittle bit more untouched by anglers, far north Norway and abit closer to the sea..love the idea of taken a boat out and looking around on the sounder then dropping a line down that would prob be the first line ever dropped on that mark.

Richy - I'd defo be up for a trip. I've looked at both Adventure holidays and Dintur - but never seem to get enough people together. Count me in :)
:D:D

John who used to have the Friarage was red hot on Norway and like yourself loved the boat fishing. I was in the shop one day and he had all the maps out plotting out new fishing areas right up North Norway around islands for his trips. He used to go with a group of Hartlepool lads. i,m sure Chas Walker being one of them.
I don,t have any contatc number for him these days but i bet he has loads of good advice.
Mick.

Skjervoy is looking tasty, you can either hire your own boat or pay for 4 days boat hire and skipper.

This area has inshore and sea based fishing but with it being northern Norway it will be bloody cold and abit more money to get too, a good indictaion it is a top spot is both "GO Fishing", Sea Angler and Total fishing ahve recorded programs from this area.

fished there a couple of years ago on self drive boats, in great accomadation up in loppa not massive fish for us that time, cod and halibut upto 36lb but hundreds of them, organised thru dintur local company on our door step not a voice or email from hundreds of miles away, dont spend to much time thinking about it as they sell out , add my name to the list please. and just do it,

Cheers for all the advice, i now have a location to fish sorted, chartered boat for 3 days picked out, after speaking to him (what i could understand) it sounds a dream but at a price, bit of work to do on the digs and the rest etc

Would rather do a set up package deal but not seeing anything that meets what i am after yet

Are you can pay alittle extra and have it all set up for you at the same location...

FYI,
Chas has plans of taking his boat Lady Elsie over to Norway in the spring, he is doing final fit out on the boat now, he was talking about taking it up the north of Norway.
