Not a happy bunny !!!!!

There\'s a good post on the Century forum by Simon (Century) as to why their rods are better (autoclaving etc), and why the Japanese don\'t have this technology. The Daiwas I believe are also made in the UK. The article can be read here:

i know some daiwa blanks are made abroad
i wanted a daiwa boat rod a few years ago and was told there isnt any blanks in the country at the minute
if you look on a daiwa rod you will see a sticker saying

BUILT IN GREAT BRITAN

whipped they should say

It is mate its stiff enough for the rocks and casts superb for the beach Ive now got 2 for a matching pair. It is the best rod ive owned from owning ZZiplex and Century. Its truely made by the gods for NE areas. Its a true all rounder you will need nowt else. Its stiff like the Nemisis++ and very well balanced and easy to use and light. You need very little efford to get good distance

steve
how many zziplexs have snapped or cono-flex etc.the greys rods are mass produced in the far east for pennies, hence the lifetime guarantee!!!.remember thier new flagshiprod a few years ago, the srx?.beautiful looking rod mine snapped under the reel seat.buy british mate it makes sense.

ive had 2 jupiters 1 apollo and 1 shadow
didnt have a problem with any
but i wouldnt touch the new greys rods at all

Got a Jupiter and Mk 1 Apollo, never had a problem with them, been in touch with them recently to get a rod bag for my rods, replied to my email more or less straight away, said to pick it up next time I\'m in the area, two brand new bags free of charge no questions asked,can\'t comment on there latest models as I\'ve never tried them.

I snapped the tip of my Mk 1 Apollo last year and had it replaced for a small fee no problems. that was after a few years use.

I\'ve borrowed and tried a MK2 Apollo when the old one snapped and have to say I didn\'t like it. It didn\'t feel right to me but that is just my personal feeling and wasn\'t off the rough stuff.

I know three lads who have started using the new orions for the beach and say they are great. Never tried them personally.

ive heard about 10 people now(on here and on beach) that have had grey\'s rods snap on them my oppion ill trust conoflex lol no probs with there rods over the last 15 years
