Hi Jim I\'ve done quite abit of fishing up that way before. Loch Etive has literally thousands of spots to fish!
The road bridge at Connel is worth a try for coalies, with my best from this spot being 5lbs. Spinning and the usual baits catch here, though if fishing on the bottom expect to lose a lot of gear. This mark like a lot of the shallower ones in the loch fishes poorly after prolonged periods of rain.
As you head over the bridge and turn right to Bonawe most of the shore is made up of shingle beaches. The Priory at Ardchattan is a good spot to try at night for spurdogs, this area regularly produces double figure fish.
The deeper spots around Bonawe Quarry are probably the most frequently fished. The Quarry itself produces doggies, pollack, grey gurnard and cod to 5lbs. If you drive through the quarry there are some really deep spots 200ft+ of water where you will catch spurs and thornies.
Hope this helps.
