Oban thieving bas***ds

Just spoke to a mate whose just returned from a trip to Oban
Fished salmuire point(wherever that is) he had a decent few days fishing with a thornback ray 3 conger
1 of which was 14lb & an unbelievable single mackeral caught while spinning for pollock wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen a pic

But.......... After packing up his tent & gear into the car he went for a trip to the loo & returned to a broken window & all his fishing gear pinched including a brand new excaliber used for 2 days!!! Police reckoned its rife up there for fishing gear being stolen!!!
So anyone planning a trip up there keep a close eye on your gear at all times, he lost his in less than 10 minutes

Been searching the web to see if any catch reports of them arriving in March!!! But no luck can't find salmuire point either
Could this be a fisherman's tale?
Shame for the theft though

It'd be a good idea to keep an eye out on Ebay for this gear being sold on.
If it's proper business model they're following they wont be doing it to order or for personal use.
It'll be flogged on somehow.
Don't know of any forums for that part of the UK but it would be good to post on them if there are any

Yes just found it trying to see exactly where in oban it is
Would have thought the only mackerel would be in the fishmongers though!

Prob local lads keeping an eye on what's about worth nicking,
I bet the gear will make its way like Uve mentioned on eBay or one of the local shops when there not so hot
