Obtaining Peeler Crab for bass fishing? The use of Tyres

I am aware of legal problems re use of tyres - if they are abandoned one can be prosecuted. I would not be in the business of breaking the law. However that is not my issue here.

I want to know what is the most effective way to plant one or two tyres to harvest peeler crabs. How to set them so that they are not washed away by a strong tide? Any ideas or advice welcomed

i'm not an expert on the subject but i think you bury the tyres in just over 3/4 of there depth in the mud near the lower water line, it also helps to put one or two 2" holes in the top to stop them lifting in strong tides
hopefully someone better suited to answer will reply too

near a enough mate but the holes are put in so no air buubbles get in and lift the tyres in any tide

No need for the holes.Once they are settled in the mud properly, the biggest flood wouldn,t shift them.
You would need a big crane to pull some of mine out.
Also make sure not to set them at the waters edge on a big ebb,or you won,t be able to get near them on a small tide.....
