Some good points there mate, I have no doubt that we have caused problems ourselves in the past but they don't even scratch what a trawler can do in one sweep of the sea. That said it doesn't make right some of the things that have (and still do) gone on on our shoreline and river banks.
As far as bins go, have a drive up to the car park at Blyth. The one at the entrance to the docks where the people park that fish the pier or the north end of the beach. I bet you will find more fishing rubbish in the car park than you will in the bin that everyone has to walk past to get to their car "They still do dump rubbish". One thing in your favour there though, they have never set it on fire yet lol.
