off to sharpley

I said that to Jack about 8yrs ago .I cast out for him said if you feel a tug you\'ve got a fish.He said like this and started walking towards the water cos the fish was going away from him.Had a death grip on the butt and the line trapped in it.Hung on to his shirt collar and he brought in a 2 1/2 lb rainbow.that was him taken to the fluff chuckin.
Moral of the story, explain the meaning of the phrase \"playing a fish\".

jessica had 3 trout
she cast out her rod played the fish to the side and netted them herself they were all 2 lb each

Ant took me once to a place I believe was Sharpley, down the A19 near to the Hartlepool turn off???.

I bought all the gear and was geet excited, dead easy I thinks, Bloody not, This casting lark is hard to do, wrist was worse than Ells\'s after 2 bottles and a dodgy net address on a friday night.

Fly fishing is a lot harder than it looks :casstet:

Still come home with a nice raindow though, thanks to Ant.

Well done Jessica.

ill be up there mid week still have no idea what flys /imatations are catching but ill have a go blood worm or old faithfull dawsons olive lol

Zonkers should do well at this time of year. Try a white or grey one on an intermediate line and slow figure of eight retrieve.

Bloodworms or buzzers fished under a bung should also produce fish

:) :)

Well Done Jessica!
How did you get on then Sless?

Grommit - Totally agree, I would always opt for a black or dark oliver Zonker in the winter, orange in the summer (Daphnia) and natural in the Autumn (fry)...... This technique has done well for me in past times.

Would rather fish the Blood worm, buzzers and dries any day tho!

Let us know how you get on Gazzawil

Cheers

He\'s a great lad and a good angler, how did he get on?

Aye, you hit the nail on the head......... \'ugly\', i\'m OK with the good lookin ones but corky helps to bring me down to his level where the ulgy girls amass..... LOL

Glad you got a couple, it was bloody cold the other day aswell, I think todays frost will put them down about aswell!

I am out of action until the end of Feb, working away unfortunately, but keep me updated on your progress.

Sless, sneaked down to Sharpley for two hours today (Tues) Sun shining and it looked like a fine day until you actually started to fish then it got really cold.
But it didnt seem to put the fish off, had a few fish on a yellow tinny fished under the bob. Best just over 15lb.
Time to go back to work came far to quickly.
