Old style Fuji's bhng!!!!

Been let down by a eBay buyer who failed to turn up for a zeteque
Question is do I redo the rod with different guides to make it more desirable?
What do I put on it?
It does need doing anyway as it was done in a hurry so I could try it out & ring spacing isn't correct,

I sold it as a blank
I got the spacing guide off Internet but these don't match up to my m8s txl but are almost identical to my m4evo I sort of knew they were wrong when I done it, but didn't think it would make that much difference
But prepared to start again regardless but with newer more modern guides

From a casting and a "feel" point of view putting BHNGs (and even worse, a Diamite tip) on a modern Zziplex (or Century, or Harrison) blank is like putting steel wheels on a Ferrari. Yes it will still drive but it will handle comletely differently especially once you start to push things to even 50% of its potential.

I wouldn't buy a 2nd hand Zzippy that had those rings on, not unless it was discounted by about £50 odd to cover a good chunk of the cost of a rebuild.

(Personally I like the black Alconites, got them on my M4 Evo and my Primo Synchro. The rods take plenty of punishment (I ain't no tackle tart lol) and they have been no bother so far)

Makes a lot if sense as to why I'm struggling to get a decent cast with this rod, nearly dislocating my shoulder with the effort I have to put into it........
Whereas in comparison with the same reel on my excaliber j curve I'm not far away from emptying the spool!

I really want to keep this rod as Iv been after one for a while was tempted into selling it as I just can't get it to perform at all, so I'm gonna re-do the rod with correct spacings, & new guides then make my decision again.
I like to have a selection of rods for different areas & species got one more in mind to add to my collection
& the zeteque will be good for the rough ground rod!
Just need to get shot of my sonik rough ground rod

I like the BNHG’s they’re rings for fishing rods. The lightest, thinnest rings are OK for casting across fields but without the plastic insert holding the ceramic, they’re fragile and I’ve had too many of them break. Ring size and spacing is a bit more personal depending on exactly where the caster needs the reel located.
If I were in your position, I’d sell the rod as it is, with the offer of a rebuild at cost.
