Fished on Richy's boat on Saturday with him and Bob.
A bit of a snotty sea with some canny swells and a cold wind.
We headed to a wreck that had fished well the day before, but had a quick stop en route.
We took a few cod to about 4lb from here then headed out to the chosen wreck.
We were straight into fish, lots of codling in the 2 to 3lb bracket all coughing up herring.
Coalies to 3lb , whiting, makeral, scotches and ling.
Fish were taking all sorts.
I had a rubard and custard shad on and was about to change it for a pirk but had one last drop with it. Bang, fish on. This felt a good fish and was taking line. Got it to the top a richy gaffed it. Me legs were shaking, a new UK pb cod of 21 lb 8 oz .

bob also got himself a pb cod of 8 lb.
Lots of fished returned today.
No big Ling about, just lots of males of about 4 to 5 lb.
The cod is also now leading the royal quays comp, weighing 20 lb gutted.
Cheers richy for a great day.

well done m8, Richy, Keith and myself were out on the Friday and had a canny day also, although the sea conditions were the same as on your trip. we had a slow start then it picked up about mid morning and into the fish taking good size coalies and whiting and the cod 3lb to 5lb. Had plenty of keepers and also put quite a few back to grow bigger. Thats a cracking UK pb for you and fingers crossed for the marina heaviest cod comp.
