I woke up at 6.45am with rain lashing off the window, with a 8.30am meet up planned at the marina it was hard to get out of bed with thoughts of standing on the boat for 6hrs getting soaked for what maybe little reward but off i went and met the lads down the boat in the lashing rain.
We headed out at soon after clearing the piers we past Shady and Slinky Kate fishing away, my plan was to keep going until we hit clean water and wet aline, fishing a few wrecks then falling back on the ground as the tide turned and the drift increased.
We had a good range of bait and lures that was being washed out by the second with the rain

Anyway we got to our first mark and all 3 of us into codling from the off; witha few in the box the damp feelings became a distant memory and then the sun started to come out, by this time we had around 25 codling in the box already

We moved around a few marks taken a better size stamp of fish from some with cod upto 6lb, ling about 6lb and a nice pollack of 5lb.

The drift was perfect for large chunks of the day and the rain came and went, when it hit we headed in the cabin and put the all day breakfasts on or the coffee and back out again to land a few more.
(Chris with one eye on the thunder storm heading our way )

By 12 noon we had all the cod our fish hold could take with many fish put back.

We kept on fishing for a while but with the wind picking up and the rain starting again it was time to head in with smiling faces and a full fish box....a grand total of 93 fish landed between the 3 of us, i was going for 100 but the drift and rain forced a stop before we got into 3 figures.
All in all a great day, i am now looking at maybe sneaking a few hours out Sunday at noon ish for late call session on my todd
