On The Tyne

Pete from shields

Had a few hours on the Tyne last night, fished 4-8pm using fresh peelers with my son. I was saved from a blank by a small coley that went back, but the lad once again out-fished me 3-1 lol.

His first was a flounder of 32cm and weighed a pound.

Second was small whiting then he pulled in a beast of a flounder at 40cm 1.3/4lb, that took a whole 3/0 pennel and full crab.

My lads 12 now we started fishing together last September, he was still 11 at the time, but he seen a lad coming off the pier with a maccy in a bag and wanted to try fishing.

I hadn't been fishing since I was around 13 so I'm still pretty new to it, enjoying my fishing and learning all the time. It won't be long until you're being outfished by the youngun lol, I actually enjoy the fact he can catch fish and we have a bit of banter about it rather than embarrassed by it. Cheers for replies. :)
