Take a drop net mate because that big cod will be there to get caught, they'll still be there a canny sea was still on today i now my local pier was still shut so it must have been still rough. You never now out over 5 or 6lb and you'll struggle to land it from a pier if you're by you're self i got one 10lb 2 ounces the other week of Roker pier, sunderland and if there wasn't a lad there to handball it i would have easily lost it. Pleased i got it in as its my new PB, the night after that i got one 9lb. So my luck was certainly in so if i was you i'd take a drop net incase that monster is there to be caught LOL.
Allways a good chance of big fish this time of year mick would fish one rod as its hard work in the strong wind and defo take a drop net coz you can bet you'll get a biggun when you need it lol
