Owt happening

aye ive got my spot picked down south in amongst the rough ground ................a nice piece of mud and fine ground ,ideal for plaice and other flats ,or even haddock or the odd ray !!
Youve just got to "suck it and see" any other boats are welcome to tag along to cover that little bit more ground with various types of bait
:D

I always struggle to get my anchor set if its windy or a big tide if i am just on sand, seems to keep pulling then drifting then gripped then drifting etc, had a large anchor (came with boat) and 2m of 12mm dia chain. I am always iffy about dropping it on rocks due to tis cost and i dont have it set up for rocks really i.e pulls from the nose to release (sure it has some proper set up name)

Good luck on the flatty and species bashing anyway, it is a nice change when your just burning fuel for 2-3 keepers a man.

Think i will try Tynemouth again but may head down that way if tis poor after 2 hours.

lol we lost our anchor along whitburn area last week it was stuck solid so out come the knife after trying allways to free it :D

Bert's got a danforth anchor with about 20ft of chain (that was lying around on a jib crane at work :D) we set a trip so it never gets stuck.

The Cod are staying offshore until October, when in conjuction with flat calm seas, they will swim inshore to be caught by us on North Star :):)
