Too tired and emotional at the mo to put a proper post up but thanks for all the messages of support - the horizon is still bouncing, my hands are red raw, fyace burnt, forearms like sandbags, can't get me wellies off and found a bit of one of Marc's lungs in me soap bag. How the chuff Mark moored her in St. Peter's without taking out half of the Marina I'll never no.

Welcome back lads, good to hear you are all home safe & sound.

Can't wait for the full report, pics, videos etc. :D

Well done lads your all stars ! great to hear your back safely.
Look forward to catching a glimpse of Pansy (and the crew of course)

class ! ;) :) :)

ps mark are you going to market the steering system, sounds a lot better (and cheaper) than hydraulics...........

EXCELLENT STUFF:exclam:

Well done Ian, Mark & Marc.

Glad to hear that you are all back safe & sound and in one piece.....well - apart from Marcs' lung, it would seem :p

I'm sure you'll remember the trip for the rst of your lives.

Welcome home, lads :)

Welcome back to dry land :D looking forward to the full report but more importantly glad that you all made it back safe and sound:D:D

Ian, Mark & Marc.....

From the speed of these responses :yltype: I guess you can tell that we've all been eagerly awaitning news of your safe arival :):exclam:

Must admit I haven't posted anything on here, not being able to compete with the drama or the humour but this has been the most heartwarming thread for yonks (or ever) and I'm so glad it all ended up OK. Looking forward to stomping around the deck, feeling important, smelling the history (and vomit lol), as long as we're still tied up. You ought to be very proud of yourselves, especially you Ell with just that little light still strapped to your heed. The east coast of ours is a bit is a graveyard for all sorts of craft so what you have achieved, especially with a bit of lump on is, indeed, remarkable.

Last leg took 27 hours non - stop, crossed the Forth Estuary at the dead of night in a fog bank and had a very hairy moment with a big ship! I thought nav lights (the green and red fellas) showed port and starboard, this lads had a green light above a red light so one of us must have been lying on our sides :o

We definetly didn't run out of deisel just near the yellow can though, definetly not :D

(75 gallon in the other tank as well)

And after 25 hours steering with string we definetly did not turn the big ships wheel thing to find it was working - that definetly didn't happen either.

After following the brilliant posts regarding the searching for a boat, the finding and purchase, then the epic home journey of the "Pansy",I was lucky enough to witness the historic occasion of the "Pansys" arrival upon the Tyne and must say she's a beauty, well done Ell, Mark and Marc..a fantastic achievement and I believe this is just the beginning of many laughs and and adventures ....... glad your all safe and sound lads.

saying nowt about that ... yet, I'll let marc's photy's do the talking. As a test of ingenuity in a needs must situation a Big Up to all the crew, 20 mins from no steering to a jury rig using a few odds and sods that navigated us for 26 hours, using only the charts and a compass, at night and we were within half a mile of the intended target

we did have to scarifice the en suite to make it work though :(

indeed, first time I've seen her from outside as it were, excellent, Rattray Heads worst Nil Pansy 1 I reckon

Cracking pics Tommy.

Absolutley knackered, face burning and hands like leather from pulling them bloody ropes all day and night.

Have to sort the pics out but here are two of the ones that made me 'laugh a bit lung up'...... Promise to do the rest tomorrow.

Just wait till you hear the rest of the stories.... classic

And then theres the steering, sorry there is a few of them but this feat of engineering deserves no less..
