PB cod

Hi guys was out with predator from Hartlepool on Thursday and caught my personal best cod 21lbs 9oz chuffed to bits

Excellent effort that - what did you catch it on mate? Was out from Hartlepool and another lad was doing really well with cod tipping a shad with bit of crab.

that's the one mate thanks for putting it up on the site because l have no idea how to do it, as for the fishing we set off from Hartlepool marina to a lovely sunset and a flat calm sea, we went east towards the gare to get some mackerel for bait and they came thick and fast after about 1/2 a hour we set off towards Skinny to fish some reefs and rough ground and to be honest it was a little slow, a few fish came aboard but give the skipper his due he did try and put us on the fish, we then set of again this time heading away from land and further out to sea to try a couple of wrecks 2 nice Pollock where caught and a couple of fish lost close to the surface, we had another move to some more rough ground and by this time the tide was giving us a good drift and the fish started to come on this is when l caught my pb cod l thought l had caught the bottom at first but then felt it nodding glad l set my clutch because it started taking line got it to the net at last the skipper weighted it 21lbs 9oz that's when my smile went from ear to ear anyway a few more fish came aboard and we set of for home stopping for a few fresh mackerel for the smoker over all a good day out, and thanks to the skipper who worked really hard for us

Cracking fish, not many on the magic 20lb caught our days...very well done.

belterfish that mate you can tell thats 21 lb easy,looksbigger than that one someone put on here a while back from a boat up north trying to say it was 39 lb or summat,and i said at the time it wasnt,no way on this earth was it,cracking fish mate well done
