Fancy a shot at the pedestrian tunnel mark at jarrow. I'm just getting to know the river marks this side of the water and was wanting to know if anyone has fished it and has any advice
just avoid the wall behind the lift shaft as it is slightly snaggy, fish nxt to the two green benches, i tend to fish between them if there isnt many people there. been quite a few whiting been pulled out there over the past couple of days. i usually fish the tide in 3 hours and stay an hour after.
You can fish all the way along the park there are very few snags so you will not lose much gear. I find the wall at the end is ok too and if it's a westerly wind the wall will protect you from it. If you are fishing after dark watch out for rats especially at the wall as they are all around that area and you can hear them squeaking away all night which gives me the creeps Water depth is very low at low tide though you can still catch then but if you are after a decent size fish wait until it's deeper. If you fish the middle bit watch out for snagging on shopping trollies close to the wall on your retrieve.
I've lived in Jarrow and Hebburn all of my life and I've never heard of any "dark end".
The only bother you might have is being pestered by the young uns for hooks and weights.

i'd be more concerned about the rats stealing your bait lol :hallucine:. going there later. hopefully all the kids will still be feeling sick after halloween and stuffing there faces with bullets. lol

Haha the darkside, nowt to worry about. You can park at the top in a open well lit area or if u want to fish the east end there a little turn off on the main road nd can park right where your fishing. Again its fine there but its a bit more secluded so if thts going to put u on a jarra para stick to the top car park. Fished it quite a lot and if im not hiding from the westerlies behind the wall to the west, I always fish the east end.
