ho do you find these reels regarding casting and winding in ,myself i find mine a bit lumpy noisy when reeling in not as smooth as my original penn 525.

I've got a 525 mag 2 and fund it very smooth and quiet going to get a second one

Good little reels but not as smooth as the originals. I prefer the fathoms better built and smooother

I have used my 515 mag2 for over a year now and think its the dogs.I have used Abu 6000,6500 and also use a mag elite but the penn out does them in my opinion.

John my 515 is really quite, both casting and reeling in mate.

I bought 2 when they first come out.
One was really smooth,the other was very noisy when reeling in.
When i opened it up there was no grease on the pinion gear,the anti reverse bearing or any of the parts that should have it.Some far eastern worker forgot to grease it.
After applying some grease it was as smooth as the other.
This could be the problem with yours.

Ave got a couple 515 mag2's and both are quiet casting and on the retreive!! Nice reels too
