Just a quick report on todays action.
With the biggest tides of the month today, we aimed for an early start to give us wind against the tide in the morning.
So it was 6:00am out of the dock, Phantom 1, all cleaned up and trim tabs fixed, running sweat as a nut, headed in to the sun into a small choppy SE sea with a slight breeze
Tried an inshore wreck, on the way to the couple of wrecks that we aimed for, with no luck, I couldn't find one of them !!!
Dropped onto our first target and hit into cod straight away, sidewinders as always, Pearls and R&Custard were the ammo for today and we had about 40 fish off the wreck, a couple of nice pollock (NO RECORD Breakers) then she slackened off.
Decided to move off to no.2 target and again straight into fish, with a full tide running and wind with it, the drift was a tad over 2knots, perfect !! no cod at this point but some good fit Pollock, as the tide dropped away and the wind kindly dropped the cod came on, again the pearls and R&Custards did the biz.
biggest of the day was 14lb, and the only double, with 8 Pollock to 8Lb, cod mainly 7-9lb with a few smaller, 6 lip hooked retuned.
Total of 97 fish for 5 rods, with T shirt weather and a deck of fish, it put a smile on the lads's faces with some great crack along the way.
Hoping to get out Saturday with the same tactics of an early start.
Golden Bollocks with the biggest of the day
