cant get this reel to run as fast as some ive seen. tried the usual remedies inc degreasing/cleaning and re-oiling with yellow rocet fuel. wondering if replacing the large bearing with a smaller one in a carrier would help. any suggestions?

try clear rocket fuel thinner again mate or ceramic barings

Is it the gold spool or graphite spool?

I've got same reel n had same problem, done the usual things as bearings out n cleaned.
Ended up just buying some abec 5 rated bearings cleaned them out n oiled with yellow rocket oil goes like a dream now, I wouldn't get ceramics for fishing cos when they get wet they are uncontrollable, hope this helps

Yer if I remember the 525 has one large n one small they come as a set, bout £8 - £10
