Pressure

I was thinking about going out on Tuesday if the weather stays the same. Just curious to know does pressure have an effect on fishing, I'm sure I read somewhere that it affects fishes feeding? Is this bull?

kalms ? ???? anyway yes pressure does have a part to play . which one is good im not sure but there is some correlation to the feeding habits.. think low pressure is good tho might be wrong .

I never go fly fishing when we have low pressure and S.East winds, puts the trout right off.

A few years back I used to fish the charter boats out of Ramsgate and one of the skippers told me that when the pressure got below 1000 millibars the cod would feed better. When this theory was put into practice it proved to be right and our catch of cod would regularly be higher. Only problem was that as the pressure dropped the weather would get worse and quite a few of our trips would get cancelled, but when we did get out we would always get cod.

Get your self out and put them cod under a bit of pressure mate

Thanks for the replies guys, there must be some truth in it then. I think I'll give it a miss until the pressure drops abit. I'm still learning the weather, when I was younger I used to fish whenever I had free time, but recently I've been studying a lot more and only going out when I think the tide, wind direction and pressure is right. I believe it's made a difference already, I'm going out less often but catching more. It's funny because when I first started off I used to only fish in nice weather because id be able to fish longer, so most of the time I'd blank, but now I've realised a short session in bad weather is alot more productive lol
