Princeton Headlight.

After a lot of deliberation and thinking, I finally made the decision to buy one.
£75 (£20 off list price of £95) plus £10 for rechargeable batteries.
Great in the garden lighting up everything, but the other night on the beach I felt a bit deflated.
Bloke next to me had a Cree same as my old one and it was just as good if not a lot better than the Princeton. And my Cree cost £11.
Maybe I should have not bothered and left a specialist light for the likes of cavers for exploring caves. Plus I would be £85 better off.
Mick.

I bet ya Princeton last a lot longer than ya Cree light will I have had mine
About 6 year now and still going strong mick-:)

I agree with what the others say about princetontec they are great, plus you get a 10 year guarantee with them,my light broke after about 7 years so I sent it back to one of there main distribution shops whitby and co in Kendal and 5 days later a brand new 275 Luman lamp was delivered
Brilliant sevice

Mick, I've had mine for about 8 years I am guessing and it gets used a lot for fishing but mainly walking my dogs. The elastic s were not in the best of health so I emailed Princeton and they sent me a new set from the USA free of charge. The postage was about $15 alone. Brilliant service.

I also have Cree lights for the missus and it is excellent for the money. I've burnt out 2 mind in the last 2 years.

Cracking lights had one for boutique 8yrs and great service I had one replaced no problem....
My current one has just started to eat batteries though tried different brands still the same.
Get only but 3 hrs on high b4 starts flashing...mind it'll go for ever after that if drop to the less...
Didn't used to have this problem can't figure it out!!!!

Cannot recommend these enough. I imported mine from the USA what feels like 10 years ago now. Unbelievable kit. Pair with 2900 rechargeable batteries and you are set.

I think some of these cree are overkill - few things more off-putting than anglers (and we have all seen it) shining high powered beams into shallow inshore water on clear winter nights - they are way too powerful for the most part and impact to some degree the probability of catching fish. I use my P-Tec on the lower settings for most of my fishing. Stick with it

Only my personal opinion but having read of quite a few incidents of the cree headlights burning out or batteries exploding whilst charging etc. - then I know what I would rather have strapped to my head!:D

As with anything it is personal choice but I would rather pay for quality myself.

They didn't look very powerful Mick. Then I saw an angler shine it into your right ear, low and behold the beam came out the left one !!!!! ALL ABOARD, ANY MORE TICKETS PLEASE 🚂

If you want some tickets get yersel down the stadium of light, they give thousands away to all and sundry every match day.

I agree but you cant tell some.

Update on the light lads.
Had a evening session at Hendon couple of nights back. Guy fishing next to me had a new LED Lensor. (and they not cheap).
Compared lights and to be honest not a great deal of difference.
I managed a lot better as well. I think to be fair I should judge it over a longer timescale.
The main reason I bought it was for our trip to Norway on Feb 9th. I have been before when rain has been none stop and I did not want a cheap Cree on which would break in the rain. The Princeton is actually guaranteed to work one metre below water.
One thing is for certain if or should I say when I am standing by the Fjord in the pitch black and it starts to pee down I,ll be thinking kind of glad I bought this now.
Chief Wigum had a cheap Cree which broke when flooded when we had a comp down South and it let him down-----mind we were in torrential rain all night.
Mick.

Aye it wouldn't have broken had i not been out in the rain. I only stood in it because it was a comp. No way would i have fished those conditions normally.
