Princeton Tec Apex

Just reading this and the previous linked topic thought you might like to look at this link for rechargables

Cracking batteries as I've found. p&p £3.95 so tend to wait until I need a few bits and pieces. The batteries have served well in cameras, games and razors. Bought a charger with free set for about £7 a while back. Good for memory cards and photo stuff also. Delivery and service always spot on.

My Apex arrived this morning.:) Only 6 days it's taken and there was no duty to pay. Seller labelled it as a gift valuing it at $28.

Looks like a good piece of kit. Wouldn't have paid £70 for it like!

Took the plunge and order the kit for the modification to make the main beam twice (if not more) as bright. There is a slightly better emitter that is being shipped and will produce 100 lumens as a minimum, 40 more than the standard luxon and I think the maximum output is 240 lumens but is limited by the battery.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Been out tonight fishing with the my pt apex and my brother who has a Tiga and can honestly say I prefer the Princeton tec for the light over the Tiga.

If you want optimum light from the PT keep the batteries in tip top condition (as has been said)...my light is currently quite dim, but still practical for fishing...it's been ages since I changed the batteries and yet it's still going.

May just change em for the next trip tho ;):D

Was browsing through the admag, the green one, today in morrisons (didnt buy it though..being a cheapskate..) but in watersports, pretty sure I saw a princeton tec for £25 possibly in the Hartlepool area..

my light came today took about a week and only £6 delivery from states..had it on in daylight and very strong then..is there anybody had a bulb upgrade on here whats it like?can you do mine for me:D

Did you avoid import duty then mate??

I had mine down Shields pier the other night. Quite surprised by the range on the main beam, only downside to it was that when I shined it at the water it wasn't very effective. Though it did illuminate the the fish(singular:D) as it came out.

Just completed the modification on mine, very impressed with the main beam and loads more spill of light from the new reflector. The process is fiddley and took a good couple of hours but well worth it. I've only switched it on tonight in the back garden (slighty illuminated by street lights) but already noticed the difference so I expect it to be loads better on an unlit beach mark.:):)
