had some fresh crab that needed using or freezing so went down the prom at 3,fished upto high water at 5 then another half hour.first three chucks got me three fish first 2 were size and had took the hook right down so kept them for tea then the third cast got a much better knock 2nd time using my penn affinity and could tell it was a better fish.didnt want to chance pulling it up and over fence so walked down slope to crawleys and pulled it onto the steps.not as big as I first thought but 2 other lads were coming down the slope to fish when I was pulling it in and one of them (davy) had some scales,it went 4lb 4oz,best upto now, started using fixed spool and braid this spring and find it spot on.

Good to see a few nice fish out for you Peter.

I'm out that way tomorrow morning for low water with the eldest grandson for more of the same hopefully.

Where's crawleys mate? Is it just around the corner from cullercoats?
Nice fish btw

its where the old rock swimming pool is,if your on the sea front road going from whitley to cullercoats you will see a kids park on your right, its just before the road bends to the right.you can park on the main road next to the park and theres steps down to crawleys, the prom is just to the right of crawleys
