Pulley Rig

I know there's peeps that like their traces complicated *coughs...Phil!:p*

but that looks a tad over designed to me

I'd put a bead either side of the top swivel, drop those crimps and drop the seperate bait clip in favour for a weight link that has a clip incorporated...

lol if anything i simplfy my rigs, but fair point mate i have been known to tie the odd up and over 2 hook clip down pennel pully lol :p

if your going to go to the tackle shop and pick up swivels first mate, ask if he's got any "pulley swivles", think thats what there called, basicly there like a swivle with the beads incorporated, and like Tony said used a weight link with a bait clip on instead of the imp type,

oh and i like to use hooks with a bent eye for my pennel and wrap the hook snood round it, rather than use a bit of plastic

Depends, for calm clear water i use a longer snood.
In Winter when things are rougher it tends to be around the 12/18 inch mark

I use those (pennel pulley) rigs most off the winter for codling, got shown off a bloke how to make them up when i first started sea fishing, they are fab. :)

the pulley rigs i use wernt copyed from any diagram ,it was a few years back i used to stroll along hendon beach and come across washed up or snagged up rigs from the lads who had fish a good sea running or a comp the night before ,thats where i cloned and learned how to copy these rigs ,with a lil adjustment here and there which was spot on for me and all types of clipped down rigs also havent failed with them yet and had some canny fish on them in arkward situations lifting a good fish at certain marks ,and i guess the types of rigs have also been copied over the years from others and will do in the future

Any ideas who stocks them - they retail at 35p each in most on line shops ,but then you have the postage on top :mad:

they will make pulley rigs a whole lot easier to build - not that its any hassle in the first place

thats very similar to the ones i was on about, i'm pretty sure reelsport will sell them as i bought a rig from them the other day and it had one on.

Phil - i have badgered Terry to get them in ,but he cant source them ,even though he has tried endlessly , maybe we should bulk buy from spotty dog - i dont mind the 35p per swivel ,you usually get that piece of your rig back anyway ,when you pull from a snag ,but when you add £1.50 P&P ,it becomes a Pi$$ take from on line tackle suppliers

Maybe Terry might buy bulk :o:o

Yeah i popped in yesterday i must have been mistaken, it was a swivel with built in chrips that i's seen on a rig,

Good idea Bri regarding bulk purchases - other forums do it and business could hopefully be put a local shops way. I've seen fly forums team up to buy x number of reels or whatever at substantial discount. Could cause the odd bidding war though

What's your point? :D

i walk past the tescos own and head for the stella cos it gets the job done quicker lol fair enough it cost more but i'm happy to pay because i like stella,

same goes for them swivels, i'd pay for them to save me having to put beads and swivels on.

Fair point they are a bit more expensive but so is stella lol

I'd be inclined to think they could be weaker than a conventional swivel
