Quick session on the Tyne

I am new to the area and have just moved into a house in Tynemouth and was wanting a nice easy venue to fish to start me off. Was thinking about fishing the river at the Fish Quays at North Shields and any tips would be very welcome? Cheers Lads
try and find st peters basin or walker riverside park thart should break you in canny

well done did you fish one of the marks I put you on. davy.

Hi David - yes I fished off the rocks at Bathing Pool Skeer about halfway down but after losing 3 sets of gear moved onto the beach to fish the flood. Didn't get any bites there though. If at any time you are going to fish that area and wouldn't mind some company, please let me know? Eager to learn how to fish these rock ledges. Cheers Andy

This was my first ever Tynemouth C0odling :-)

nice to see you get your first Tynemouth cod and a nice one to start with, the middle of the beach fishs well with a bit of sea on either side of the rocks in the middle of the beach just in front of the park hotel and sealife centre is fishing well at the moment. davy.

Cheers Davy - assume low water at night is best? What sort of distance off the beach and is it sandy or rough?

clean ground and you can two hook, long casting not needed as stoney and bargen bottom are wide holes maybe 50 yds casts will do you either side of the middle rocks with lug best bait. davy.
