My mate Malcolm and I went to the venue at 11.30am to fish the high tide at 12.45pm. We went there because Roker Pier was closed due to heavy seas. I fished a two hook flapper with 2/0 hooks and malcolm fished a single hook with a long flowing trace. We used lugworm although we did have some mackerel with us. I counted 22 rods there at one point and no fish of any size were being taken and in particular with mackerel. Most fish were falling to lugworm alone. After four hours I had one sizeable whiting, a small flounder and a rockling (both returned). Malcolm had one small flounder and a small codling about 6" long (both returned). Oh, well, at least we never blanked. Better luck next time.:red::red::red:
