there a great rod for the money mate, I had one for a couple of years before I upgraded to the Responce, pretty sure Carl (Snaggeduplad) is still fishing with it.

how do you rate the response rod

I'm still fishing with it, never had a problem with it either! If I had the money I'd have the response, their a brilliant rod. If your choosing between the 2 I'd go for the response if you had the money mate, if not the VFM won't steer you far wrong. The only noticeable difference is that the response casts better and its resistant to the wind like a broom stick but has brilliant bite detection..... I'm selling the rod to myself here lol.

Thanks for the feedback I have looked at both the rods mentioned but the vfm is the one I'm thinking of as I want 2 so don't want to be spending big money, don't think the wife would be to pleased.

My VFM is a little battered but a brilliant rod. you won't be disappointed

cracking rod mate, to me it speaks volumes when the guy selling the uses one himself!
very true and I'm not knocking the rod as I have just got one but I must admit I'm struggling with the slim butt section,is it just a normal tip tornado butt or is it modified in any way...........

I had a response and they are a very nice rod. They can be used pretty much every where although I was found wanting in some of the ground I fish, that's one of the reasons I got rid of mine. Apart from that it was a rod which I enjoyed using and you will get used to the slim butt which had a little to much flex hence the reason it struggled in some heavy ground.

Sounds fine I'm after 2 rods to use for beach, pier and the river, got a highlander for the rough stuff

thanks mate I kept thinking it (the butt section) was going to snap!

The only similarity the response has with the Tip Tornado range is the fact it has been manufactured by Century on the same mandrel as the Tip Tornado.
The butt was designed to help the angler compress the rod which enables better casting.
The butt will not let you down.
I fish some of the heaviest ground around Whitburn and it does the job very well.

Terry
