probaly a dumb question but can you still cast with a reducer attached to the rod and not damage it

Yes no problem.

Casting with the reel in the low position no problem i never take it out but with the reel in the high position personaly i wouldn't trust it

use it as priest when ya get a ten punda . or to extend the rod in big seas .

with the reel down it just feels wrong but with the reducer I think I could get used to it just didnt want to put it on and first cast bang bust butt section cheers for the advice

original reducer were ment to be cast with. years ago tournament rod handles were that thick caSTERS could not hold the rod and control the reel at the same time so they put a smaller dia extension in hence reducer to reduce the diameter not as we know a reducer now as a extension
