Mate try reelvalue.co.uk ive just got my abu 7000 stripped down, cleaned and serviced for £8.50+ postage. Only sent it to him last week and got it back today in great condition. Well worth every penny!

Anyone know anyone local who carrys out reel repair/servicing (PENN MAG2)

if you take your time, ans as you take the parts of ree and lay them down in order there is nothing to worry about
if it is omly a basic clean and oil u want
1) take off side plate on ratchet side
2) take spool out
3)take plastic bush offone side of spool
4)take clip offfrom other side then wat looks like a washer
5 take bearings out off spool and soak in petrol or similar, take out ofr thinner spin excess cleaner off bearings dry add 2-3 drops of oil on each bearing (i use 3-1 )
6)clean all parts off reel then reverse procedure
thats a basic service i do
if a bigger service is needed best then to be shown than told
have shown a pic as a just cleaned mine

lol cant believe ive just done my reels and logged on here to see its one of the topics, i managed it easy enough so im guessing it must be easy :/ lol
mind i think i will take them somewhere for a good service at the end of the summer
