If its a multiplyer and i suspect it is then be careful, they are a new reel and dont have a proven track record as yet.

Personally i would stick with penn/abu or similar, reels which have been proven over a number of years.

wise words, terry, then again you only ever utter wise words:exclam::exclam::D:D:D:D:D

Personaly I wouldnt by another abu, within a month of buying mine the end nut kept jumping its thread, took it back and they replaced it but it just happened again, ended up taking end nut off and putn a one on from tool box now its ok. On inspection of original nut part of thread had just collapsed. A mag 525 which can be used on clean ground with 15lb or on rough with 30lb is a canny all rounder.
Or just clean only i'd go for 7ht mag.

For that amount of dosh (£150) I'd get a 7HT Mag, you should pick a very very good one up second hand for around £120 or save up a few more quid for a new one (I think they retail for about £170 odd now).

IMHO probably the best clean ground fishing reel out there, casts like a dream, good retrieve, smooth as silk and very user friendly. Will also double up as a reel to use for field casting and though it won't quite match up to a centre-magged tournament reel it won't be far behind - I did my first 200 metre field cast with my 7HT Mag and a CM Crest.

Penn 525 mag for 20lb line and long range over heavy ground
Abu mag elite or any 7ht if distance is most important, 15-18lb line for clean to mixed ground
7ht mag would be probably be the best reel for distance and has a slightly faster retrieve, and better handle than the original and turbo. magnet control on 7ht mag is the best i have used.

Hi, the TFG force 8 is a fixed spool reel. So I take it that your after a fixed spool reel and not a multiplier. I've got to say that I wouldn't buy one.
Reason being, I bought a Lancer reel which is made in the same factory and just badged differently. The internal gears didn't like me pulling a decent sized fish in, and after only 2 sessions it was ruined.
You'd be better off trying to save a few more pennies and buying a Shimano. I've used shimano fixed spools for years now and they are brilliant. They are all capable of massive distances in the right hands.
I don't know why I bought the Lancer ,it was a mistake I won't be making again.

paul galon had a 7ht mag in the box for sale just before xmas might be worth having a word with him. What type of fishing will you be doing?
Im using a penn 525 and a greys 6 mag for distance and a penn 535 mag for rough ground fishing

Confused here, shauns sea angler attachment in the earlier reply said the TF gear force 8 is a multiplier. What is it?

Think Steve has got himself confused, a quick google came up with a TFG force 8 fixed spool reel but it is a carp reel and not a sea reel. The OP is asking about the TF Gear Force 8 which as gordo says is defo a multi.

with regards to this, if your after a cheap good all in all reel that will put yp with rough ground and will cast as far as you can make it. go for the new greys g-mag 7 for 60 quid you cant go wrong at all. i've got 2 of them and what you get for your money is pheonomanal.
