When I have suggested employing buyer in a tackle shop? And the other comment, well we could apply that to all walks of life couldn't we? In a fishing context you will have a good casting coach and a bad casting coach, a good rod builder and bad rod builder - buying is no different to be fair? Never use buzzwords or fancy systems its all common sense to be honest. I can't afford fishing lessons so I use these forums and friends I have made through it to help me try and get better. I'm only putting a viewpoint across and not everyone will agree and I wouldn't expect them to TBH.

Exactly g.ordon! Like I said previously my point is being missed. My main point was that it is a shame a tackle shop has had to come on and have to defend it's honour about some two bob bait elastic?

whats the matter with the old proper THEAD,we used to use years ago.still does the job,its also alot cheaper?but as yous know scissors needed.

well it does the job imo, thats all we used to use.anyway im a bit p off tonight, wanting wor davey 1970 back.sitting in awnings at caravan having a few cans, roll on tomorrow fishing l/w up burnmouth area.

I take on board your comment and won't start one of my training courses on stock control ha! Your comment is what is always said on students first day until we get stuck in! A shop will know typically know how many they sell year on year so..... no gonna shut up there. All I'm saying is its a shame a shop's reputation can be questioned over a bit of elastic worth pennies. Customer's perception is all there is the truth is irrelevant IMO. Cheers lads.

To be fair, the original post didn't mention the shop at all, terry came on and explained the situation as a decent honest bloke and fair play to him. For me that only enhances his reputation as being a good shop as opposed to anything else.

smart me like, always have at least two reels of elacky in the bag. Yes, I know, expensive keeping stock in the tackle bag but haway it's fishing.:D

Elastic? About a quid a spool Gordon haha. I also have two, when one runs out I buy another! Minor stock error, not really worth all this aggravation lol

In an ideal world your theory would work however we dont live in an ideal world and trends change.
Unfortunately my crystal ball must run out of batteries, but that would be my fault as i have no doubt you will tell me i should have known it would need batteries.
Mark please dont take offence at my reply to you quote, just trying to get a point over thats all.

Terry's one man working 7 days a week of course he'll run out of gear once in a while . As far as stock control goes if more people used their local tackle shops more and the internet less the shops may be able to hold more stock .

you should have planned better and realised the batteries would run out :D

All in all, fair play for coming on to explain when you didn't have too terry as you weren't brought into it by the original post. Rep of the shop is well intact mate. Issue closed.

You two organised buggers lol I have had to use my carp line i use for rotten bottoms on more than one occasion to lash my crab on when I lose my elastic, not once in the god knows how many spools I have bought have I seen the end roll lol

Fair enough lads you all entitled to come back as you have done. Not sure i agree bait elastic is subject to trends mind you or any need for a crystal ball? Lets just call the debate a draw. I'm working with a company next week probs will call deal off as clearly it appears I'm talking out my arse! 5% reduction in costs will typically mean 25% more profit which business person wouldn't want that?
You will be pleased I will just be a viewer on forum going forward after this beautiful experience!

You talk about stock control and ordering 500 spools of bait elastic LOL... Thats poor stock control and dead money!!! Most place have minimum levels for stock and once that product reaches the min level then more will be ordered..Its common sense really

Listen just said in previous post to leave it at that and people twisting my posts. 500 spools was used as a figure used as an example what you say can be true and can be wrong in different situations and im not prepared to drag this on any further so people say what they want to be frank. People on here seem to have everything in hand so just leave it at that you's have me beat feel better now? i know where my expertise is - I'm out!
