River 5-1-12

[Budgie]

Went for a cheeky little sesh up the river to use up some worm that had been in the fridge. Got up there for about 7.30am and fished till high water. Murderd off the crabs stippin bait off, and lttle whities that a couldn't catch on me 4/0 hooks but managed two canny whities and two hours before high water managed to winkle out a nice 2lb codling.
All went back with the exception of the codling that a gave to some "proper owld school" who was fishing next to me fully equipped with full fibre glass rod and very old reel, but he was chuffed and promised he wouldn't tell their lass he caught it. LOL.
What was impressive was when a started the wind was howlin down the river, westerly, 3 hours later, gale force out the north..... COOOOMMME OOOONNNN. Rocks on monday with "the Ghost".
