does any one know how much a year pass is for the wansbeck??

Not sure what the current pricing is, but I got a year pass a couple of years ago it was very cheap in the region of about twenty pounds.


You get them from the shop at wansbeck park.

Wansbeck District Council permit for trout fishing in the Wansbeck Riverside Country Park at Ashington:

£6.50 per day adult, £3.00 per day child, £17.00 per year (2006prices).

there are some very nice trout in there and always a chance of hooking a sea trout although you will have to return the sea trout if you dont hold a valid licence.

The boundries are quite large but only go to the bridge crossing the river to Guide post.

I spent half my life as a kid flatty bashing in the wansbeck. Must have caught thousands over the years. sometimes 10lb of fish in a session easy.

i would never have imagined it as being good for freshwater fish?? though i did have a canny sea trout of about 5lb on macky strip one day! on light tackle i thought i had hooked a british record bass!

Hi All
to much water in the rivers at the moment around here just passed through Morpeth and the river is high full of water, if the rain keeps off it will be thursday night into friday i think before it will be fishable.
