Fished Roa island last week, just small stuff knocking about but an interesting place to fish. No mackeral have showed up yet over on the Cumbrian coast, how about here, any reports of mackeral at any of the piers yet

Nice pics, and yes, plenty Mackerel off the piers. I was over Dunstanburgh way and had them on soft plastic and zenith in good numbers.

Plenty on Shields and Roker

thanks for the replies chaps, I managed to fish Shield's pier this morning, deliberately took light spinning gear, (heavy wind made it difficult), was off the pier by 10:30 as it was starting to fill up with guests off the Jeremy Kyle show and it was becoming rather heated on the end of the pier. Very happy to take just enough for the plate:)
