Hi all,

Been wondering if anyone has ever fished the rock edges on the headland from the Heugh round to the Twin Steps at low water ?
was down there looking at low water and just wondered cause ive never seen anyone fish . You would think there would be some red cod there., wonder if it will be shallow:confused:

I fancy giving it a shot some time. i've fished lighthouse corner & further round upto the twin steps many times over high water.

Wot u all reckon , worth a chuck?

Cheers Carlos:)

I have seen guys fishing off the old waste pipe formation which is over from the twin steps. Its good in winter when there has been a big sea on.
Never fished it personally. Always hit steetly. Shame to waste the oppertunity.

Mick.

I wish i could help Carlos ,but it's not somewhere I've tried before ,hopefully the NESA faithfull will sort your question out .

Totally agree Sean,

Gonna give it a go over the summer & try a few spots, nowt to lose really and will be good to try out some new marks.

Cheers all:)

start to fish the mark about 1to 2 hours before low water, and after dark is best, a 50 to 70 meter cast is enough as you,l be putting your bait into quite deep water. fish about in the middle between the heugh and the pilot pier, its always best after a northerly blow, but you can get them at any time , use a rotten bottom as it,s quite snaggy, fresh mussle in combination with rag is a good cocktail . watch out when the tide is on the flood it can catch you out , and good luck there are some good fish hiding in the kelp:red:
