First post fellas so be gentle, rite anyone know how best to take old rings, whipping and varnish off a rod:question:

any advice welcome

rite Neil,use a sharp craft knife or stanley knife and carefully cut & scrape around ring legs.eventually you should be able to remove the ring.You will be left with a void where the ring has been,this will allow you to prise off the old whipping & varnish.It takes a bit time neil but ive found this the easyest way.
