hi all:)
im getting an old rod off my brother its got an old massive flippy bottom eye which is nackerd but all the other rings are fine i think(havnt seen it yet) i was thinking could i have that bottom ring taken off and a smaller ring put on to convert it to be used with a multiplier:confused:
in a perfect world i would have the whole rod stripped but im on a budget you see ladds but its a lovely old 12footer and it would be a shame it getting all cacky in my brothers garage:(

I can't see why not mate, £10 should do the job. It'll never be a tourney rod but who gives a sht

exactly mate haha:D i think its an old dam rod:) i got years ago but couldnt cast it well so gave it to my brother:) would rather have it back because theres sentimental value to it cause it was the first proper rod i ever bought!:) DONT KNOW HOW I CAN BE SENTIMENTAL OVER A ROD BUT THERE YOU GO:D:D
cheers:)

The only conversions I've done involved closing a car door on a rod...

Smashed a spigot once on the only rod I had with me at what was going to be the start of a session some forty odd miles away from home (couldn't have been at the end of the session, could it ) and shortened a rod by a good four inches on another occasion.

I decided that conversions weren't my strong point, but good luck with yours :D

Hi m8 as i have got an old 12ft rod i am doing up myself a silver surf and it will be a handy 2cd rod when its done as it just wants a new reel seat and the big eye just before the seat so why waste good old things when you can bring them back to life as to me it will be a sturdy rod when i finnish it.:D:D:D:D
